Frequently
Asked Questions

Do I need to have a diagnosis like autism or ADHD to be seen at All Minds Counseling?

NO, although neurodiversity is our specialty, we work with neurotypical individuals who want mental health support. If you feel we would be a good fit, you can reach out to discuss next steps.

If you are waiting for a diagnosis or suspect you or your child may have neurodiversity we are able to help support you in processing this new information and provide resources to gain a formal diagnosis if interested.

Can you diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder?

No, unfortunately only trained psychologists are able to complete autism evaluations. We are happy to work with you in therapy and help provide you with resources and support in finding a psychologist for a formal diagnosis while also working on mental health goals.

What is the cost of therapy?

We are NOT in-network with any other insurance plans, however we can provide a “superbill” for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. We are an “out-of-network” mental health provider that may be reimbursed by your carrier depending on your plan. A “superbill” is a receipt of payment for services that can be provided at the end of each month.

Questions to ask your insurance carrier:
  • Does my health insurance plan cover mental health services? Does my plan cover in-network and out-of-network providers?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is it and have I met it?
  • Does my plan limit how many mental health sessions I can receive per calendar year?
  • Do I need written approval in order for services to be covered?

All Minds Counseling now accepts Medicaid, United, and Kaiser insurance. If you are planning to use Kaiser, United, or Medicaid insurance, please call your insurance company to inquire about your behavioral health deductible and copays—this is your responsibility to be aware of your benefits. You will be responsible for all deductibles and copays associated with your insurance.

*We require all clients to have a card on file for copays, late cancelled/no show appointment fees, and any medical insurance lapse that may occur while receiving services.

All Minds Counseling provides therapy at a rate of $150-$175 for 50-minutes sessions.

All licensed therapists (Emily Schleich, Stephanie Dunlap, Liz Cason, and Corey Swartzmiller) charge $175/50 minute sessions.

All Pre-licensed therapists (Ben Jessell, Juliana Sapp, and Emma Taylor) charge $150/50 minute sessions.

If you and your therapist decide that more time would be beneficial and or necessary beyond the traditional 50 minute session length, the rate of services is prorated in 15 minute increments after 60 minutes. This is typically reserved for couples, family and EMDR therapy.

*Payment is expected at the time of service and will be made online using our HIPAA-compliant records system. All major credit cards are accepted including FSA/HSA cards. If you would rather pay by check or cash let us know ahead of time. Regardless of payment method, a credit card will be kept securely on file.

When are your therapists available?

Our doors are open from Monday to Thursday, 10 AM to 7 PM. Each of our therapists’ schedules varies to best suit your needs. Reach out to our Office Manager to inquire about services and availability. Our Office Manager will be able to match you with the right therapist based on your preferences and availability.

Subsequent appointments will be seamlessly organized directly with your therapist during your first session.

What is the length of sessions?

Our standard sessions are 50-55 minutes long, but we also offer extended sessions of 75 and 90 minutes for specialized therapy needs, such as couples counseling or trauma-focused modalities like EMDR.

You will work with your therapist to determine the session length that best supports your therapeutic goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens, we get it. We ask that you reschedule or cancel your session 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time in order to avoid being responsible for Late Cancellation No Show fees. All private pay, Kaiser, and United (private insurance) clients are responsible for a fee of $85 for any late cancel or no show appointments.

Please be aware that after-school appointments after 3pm are “prime times” and fill up quickly. We are not able to hold spots for after-school appointments if you cancel or miss appointments regularly.

How long does the therapy process take?

Because we know one size does not fit all, we believe everyone’s circumstances are unique and the length of time therapy can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek therapy in the first place. Please talk to your therapist during your intake session if you have concerns or questions about the anticipated length of treatment.
